Junior Open Water Diver

The PADI Junior Open Water program is an exciting program for children from ages 10 and above. If the child is 10 or 11 years old, the program certifies the child to dive with a parent, legal guardian or a dive professional to a depth of 40 ft. If the child is 12 to 14 years old, the child is permitted to dive to a depth of 60 feet with another certified diver over the age of 18. With the PADI Junior Open Water certification, once a child reaches the age of 15, the junior certification can be upgraded to an adult certification.

This PADI course is designed to use clear incremental goals that will build the child’s confidence and teach important life skills. The course introduces them to diving in a matter that is easily learned by young children.

The PADI Junior Open Water course is one of the most popular courses. Once the child is certified, they will be able to dive anywhere in the world and feel confident at a depth of approximately 60 feet.
